Your artefact
A working project, data log, design file or proposal that demonstrates the module outcome.
LEARN · APPLY · REFLECT
Build practical skills in a facilitated workshop, apply them at school and keep evidence of what you and your learners learned.
A FOUR-HOUR WORKSHOP
Each module combines guided making, a variation for your teaching phase and planning for classroom use. The typical session rhythm is:
Individual module activities may use a different timing to suit the project. A school application task usually takes about two additional hours and is separate from the four contact hours.
YOUR PORTFOLIO
A working project, data log, design file or proposal that demonstrates the module outcome.
A learner task, lesson plan, assessment or anonymised sample that shows how you used the activity at school.
Record what learners understood, where they needed support and one change you will make next time.
Your portfolio brings together F1–F5 artefacts and the F6 lesson. Teach the final lesson within four weeks and include the plan, three learner responses and a 300-word reflection. An accepted portfolio completes the foundation and opens advanced study.
CPTD & CERTIFICATES
The Academy is designed for a SACE Type 3 pathway, but endorsement and points allocations are not yet confirmed. No CPTD points are promised at this stage. Any approved module allocation will be communicated before you book.
Endorsed attendance reporting and the Academy’s portfolio requirements are separate processes. Completing a portfolio supports progression through the Academy.
The Foundation Certificate recognises completion of F1–F6 and an accepted portfolio. These are provider certificates, separate from SACE Certificates of Achievement.
Keep workshop and classroom evidence in your Professional Development Portfolio. Check the relevant endorsement details for each activity you book.
CHOOSE YOUR FINISHING POINT
Complete six foundation modules and an accepted portfolio: 24 contact hours, with classroom application between sessions.
Add the one or two modules in a strand that fits your subject. Develop a focused project you can take into your class or club.
Complete the foundation plus any four advanced modules: ten workshops and 40 contact hours. The diploma is an Academy award, separate from SACE awards.
BEFORE YOU JOIN
No. F1 starts with connecting your board and creating your first live MicroBlocks script. Foundation workshops build skills step by step.
The programme is designed as a rolling monthly offer. Start with F1, then progress in order. Confirm the current timetable and available places before booking.
Plan to use a laptop and a Springbot Green or Gold with a USB-C connection. Confirm whether equipment is provided or whether you should bring your own kit. Specialist modules need additional equipment, listed on their course pages.
Enquire with your teaching phase, subject and preferred module. We will confirm the available session, venue, fees and kit arrangements before you commit to attending.
Yes. The foundation is a complete pathway into practical classroom computing. Advanced study is optional: choose the strands that serve your learners.
No. You develop an experiment proposal for a suitable analogue or flight opportunity. Real launches and spaceflight depend on partners, selection, resources and permissions.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Tell us your teaching phase, subject and the experience you would like to build. We’ll help you choose a starting point and confirm dates, venue, kit arrangements and fees.
