IN THE WORKSHOP
What you will explore.
- 0:00–0:40
When blocks stop being enough, and when they are still the right tool.
- 0:40–1:20
Firmware and the REPL. Print, save, reboot.
- 1:20–2:40
Pins, the LED, the button, a loop, a function.
- 2:40–3:30
Read temperature or light. Compare with the MicroBlocks version of the same idea.
- 3:30–4:00
Classroom risks: firmware locks, serial ports, one editor policy.
BUILD IT. USE IT.
Take the learning into class.
You leave with
- A sensor-reading script on the board.
- A blocks-to-Python matching card for learners.
Your school application
Translate one foundation MicroBlocks project into MicroPython with a class or club. File both versions.
Allow about two hours outside the facilitated session.
Curriculum connection
Coding & Robotics text-based progression; IT programming; CAT problem solving.
