App Inventor: the phone as the interface

Grade 7–12. CAT, IT, Technology, Coding & Robotics.
Foundation Certificate.
4 hours, plus a school application task
IN THE WORKSHOP
What you will explore.
- 0:00–0:40
Phone policy, data, and why the app is the display, not the lesson.
- 0:40–1:40
App Inventor: a button, a label, a canvas.
- 1:40–3:00
Link the Springbot (Bluetooth or the school’s supported link) so a live reading lands on the phone. Optional xChip as the richer input.
- 3:00–4:00
A learner brief: ‘show the classroom one number that matters.’
BUILD IT. USE IT.
