F2 · FOUNDATION · 4-HOUR WORKSHOP
Outputs and interaction
Teachers can design output patterns and input responses, and choose Green or Gold for a lesson on purpose.
All phases.
F1.
4 hours, plus a school application task
IN THE WORKSHOP
What you will explore.
- 0:00–0:40
Outputs as feedback: why learners need to see the machine respond.
- 0:40–1:40
Green matrix patterns, icons and simple animations. Gold text and small drawings on the OLED.
- 1:40–2:40
Buttons A/B and touch pads. Events, loops, and a reaction game.
- 2:40–3:20
Buzzer as data, not noise: pitch as temperature or light. Classroom sound rules.
- 3:20–4:00
Peer test: swap projects and write one improvement.
BUILD IT. USE IT.
Take the learning into class.
You leave with
- A reaction-time or pattern game.
- A phase-specific display cheat-sheet (Foundation, Intermediate, Senior).
Your school application
Run the game with a class. Note one differentiation change for a learner who finishes early and one for a learner who needs more structure.
Allow about two hours outside the facilitated session.
Curriculum connection
Coding sequences, loops and events; Technology electronic systems; Creative Arts pattern (optional cross-link).
YOUR EQUIPMENT
Tools for this module.
Springbot Green (matrix) and Gold (OLED). Buzzer and Neopixel on both.
Confirm the equipment and software arrangements when you enquire. Specialist field activities require appropriate supervision and permissions.
